The short explanation of this alert was:

New climate projections for the Northeast show dramatic consequences for Pennsylvania, from hotter temperatures to more extreme precipitation events. But we can avoid the most devastating consequences of global warming if we take action to reduce our emissions today. Ask Governor Edward Rendell to bring Pennsylvania into the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI), a market-based plan involving eight northeastern states to cut heat-trapping emissions from electricity-generating power plants.
