The California state legislature is set to vote on a critical global warming bill in a few weeks. This legislation—the California Clean Car Discount bill—will dramatically reduce global warming pollution from California cars and trucks by providing rebates on the purchase of cleaner new vehicles--funded by surhcrges on the purchase of dirtier new vehicles. The cars and trucks Californians drive emit more global warming pollution than any other source in the state. If global warming emissions continue unabated, California is expected to face poorer air quality, a sharp rise in extreme heat, a less reliable water supply, more dangerous wildfires, and expanding risks to agriculture. It's vital that our legislators know how important these concerns are to their constituents!
