The short explanation of this alert was:

The Great Lakes region may experience more severe global warming effects than previously expected according to Confronting Climate Change in the Great Lakes Region, a report recently updated and released by the Union of Concerned Scientists. These effects include poorer air quality and more frequent extreme heat and heavy precipitation events.  The findings highlight the need for immediate action. A renewable electricity standard (RES) would help curb global warming while boosting the economy. Please urge your representative to take action on global warming by supporting the federal RES.

Please make your letter personal by adding in your own thoughts and concerns. Every letter makes a difference, but customized letters have the greatest impact!
